About the Premier Physical Program

The level of detail of a Premier Physical is what sets it apart from a regular physical that you could get from any primary care physician. Our one place, whole body physical combines a comprehensive battery of diagnostic tests by a team of specialists with a comprehensive assessment of your risk factors. Real-time test results are supported by a written summary of your visit with recommendations from your physician for ongoing preventive healthcare measures.

The Premier Physical Program is designed for anyone who wants the best in medical screening and detection with the benefit of all tests conducted in one stop. By meeting with our multidisciplinary group of physicians at Sansum Clinic, you will receive services that normally would require you to visit multiple doctors at multiple facilities over a longer period of time. We offer streamlined efficiency in a comfortable, upscale environment.

While this program is appropriate for patients with multiple health problems, a one-day evaluation is not geared toward evaluating multiple new medical issues. This program is also not intended for people looking for a second opinion. If you are aware of specific issues that need medical attention, we recommend scheduling an appointment with an Internist or one of our many specialists.

The core services for the Premier Physical Program are the same for men and women, with the exception of tests that apply only to one gender (i.e. PSA tests for men; mammograms for women). We search equally aggressively in women and men for hidden health issues such as heart disease and cancer.

A body scan is associated with excessive exposure to radiation. And there is not a single screening device that can match the detection of a Premier Physical. We combine state-of-the-art screening with qualitative lifestyle assessments to develop a comprehensive picture of your health and make customized recommendations to enhance and prolong your life.

In many cases, the Premier Physical takes one day. But because it is customized to meet your individual healthcare needs, it may take longer, depending on the testing determined by you and your physician.

You will need to fast from 8:00 pm the night before your physical. Your blood will be taken upon your arrival, and then we will serve a light breakfast before your examination with an Internist assigned specifically to you. Throughout the day you will receive a variety of screenings by our multidisciplinary team of Sansum Clinic specialists. Lunch will be served and you will have access to our lounge during breaks throughout the day, where you can relax, watch TV, read magazines or use the Internet. At the end of the day you will regroup with your Internist to review your test results, discuss any recommended lifestyle recommendations, and talk about advance directives.

Most of your results will be reviewed with you before you leave. If any tests require additional time, you will receive them in a written summary within days of your appointment.

Your dedicated Internist will let you know immediately and will review recommendations for follow-up care with you. We can refer you to a specialist within Sansum Clinic or to a doctor closer to your home, if you prefer.

We recommend that you have a Premier Physical once a year. Certain tests may not need to be performed annually, so we will customize each visit according to your risk factors and results from your previous exam. Follow-up exams are likely to take less time than your initial visit.

One of the many benefits of a Premier Physical is that you will spend more time with each physician on your team than you would in a regularly scheduled individual appointment. We value our Premier Physical Program patients and ensure quality one-on-one time with each physician you see.

We have standard pricing for our core services. Ultimately the price is determined by the a la carte services you choose based on your age, gender, risk factors and family history. Once we determine the services that are appropriate for you, we will give you a quote in advance.

All core and a la carte services of the Premier Physical Program are available on a cash basis only. If you are referred to additional testing or consultation, those services can be coordinated with your insurance company.
